Portuguese Language Course
About the course
The course is held through the Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages and is delivered by an experienced teacher, trained in Portugal and Brazil.
The course is addressed to all POLITEHNICA Bucharest students interested in learning the Portuguese language and culture. All learning materials are provided by the university. It is structured according to levels, each level of the course containing 4 hours per week.
In the academic year 2024-2025, POLITEHNICA Bucharest is organizing two courses, one for beginners (who have never studied Portuguese before), and one for intermediate students (limited to students who have graduated from the beginner course or students who have already reached the A2 or B1 language level).
At the end of the course, students will receive a graduation diploma, which gives them the opportunity to apply for the international exams organized by CAPLE (Centro de Avaliação e Certificação de Português Língua Estrangeira), for European Portuguese, and CELPE-BRAS (Certificado de Proficiência em Língua Portuguesa para Estrangeiros), for Brazilian Portuguese.

- Learn basic conversational skills;
- Learn Portuguese vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, sentence structure;
- Understand the differences between the Portuguese and Brazilian variants of Portuguese;
- Practice writing and speaking and get an introduction to Portuguese and Brazilian culture;
- Get an insight of the events organized in Romania by the Portuguese speaking community.
