Hello. You will experience an intensive 2-semester program, full of fun and challenges where you will meet interesting people from all over the world and you can delve into the culture with the support of fantastic and helpful teachers.
The Romanian language course intends to get foreign students acquainted with various elements of specialized language, depending on the profile chosen in Romanian (technical, economics, philological, judicial, medical terms), and getting them used to the correct use of certain structures specific to specialized language, increasing linguistic competence and performance by imposing the learning of specialized terms.
The admission process for citizens from non-EU countries is performed according to the UPB Methodology for accepting to studies and schooling foreign citizens from non-EU states, that are not part of the European Economic Space and from the Helvetic Confederation.

The Preparatory Year – Romanian Language Course is mandatory for those students who wish to pursue their studies in Romanian language and do not have a valid language certificate in this sense. During this one-year, full-time academic program, the international students will acquire the necessary skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking in Romanian for academic purposes, but also specific knowledge correlated with future training profile.
The curriculum for the preparatory year implies studying the following mandatory subjects over two semesters.
First semester:
- Romanian language, levels A1-A2;
- Romanian culture and civilization.
Second semester:
- Romanian language, level B1 (introduction to specialized language)
After passing the exams in all studied disciplines, at the end of the preparatory year you will receive a graduation certificate, necessary to apply for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Romania.

Bachelor
- The files (scanned copy) are sent to the University POLITEHNICA in Bucharest, to the following e-mail address: [email protected];
- University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest evaluates the files, in accordance with the legal regulations in force, and communicates the list of persons proposed for the issue of the letter of acceptance to studies to the Directorate-General for International Relations and European Affairs (DGRIAE) of the Ministry of Education and Research;
- The list of candidates will be transmitted online to the Ministry of Education and Research, according to the electronic template;
- The list will be accompanied by a scanned copy of the candidate's file in accordance with Article 7;
- The number of the submitted files must be within the maximum number of students who can be enrolled, and in accordance with the regulations in force;
- After collecting and analysing the documents, the Ministry of Education and Research issues the letter of acceptance;
- The Ministry of Education and Research transmits to the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest the letters of acceptance to studies and, where appropriate, to diplomatic missions, both in electronic format and hard-copy;
- Incomplete files will not be processed and are declared rejected. If the documents are resubmitted and are complete, UPB will resume the steps described in the admission process with a view to their processing by Ministry of Education and Research.
- Birth certificate – certified and translated copy;
- Copy of the document which attests current residence;
- Copy of the passport;
- Application form for the release of the letter of acceptance to the study programme (Annex 2);
- A certified and translated copy of the Baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent, authenticated by the proper authorities of the country of issue. For UPB study programmes, it is mandatory to study a minimum of 2 specialized subjects (mathematics, computer science, statistics, physics, chemistry, economics or technology);
- Certified and translated copy of the certificate attesting to the promotion of the baccalaureate exam for the graduates of the current year;
- Transcript of records - certified and translated copy of the document, related to the completed studies;
- Graduation certificate received after the year of Romanian language. This applies to the students who want to follow the programmes taught exclusively in Romanian;
- Certificate of competency in foreign languages. This applies to the students who want to follow the programmes taught in a foreign language (English, French, German);
- Medical certificate (in a foreign language) certifying that the person in case does not suffer from any contagious diseases or other afflictions incompatible with their future profession. The health certificate must comprise information that show the current health condition of the owner and, possibly, personal antecedents as to chronical diseases and SARS-COV2;
- Declaration regarding processing of personal data for the enrolment process (Annex V);
- Declaration engagement for payment of study tax (Annex VI).
Documents can be translated into one of the foreign languages: English/French/Romanian.
When coming for enrollment, the candidates will present their study documents at the faculty, in original, along with the necessary translations (if the case).
Master
- The files (scanned copy) are sent to the University POLITEHNICA in Bucharest, to the following e-mail address: [email protected];
- University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest evaluates the files, in accordance with the legal regulations in force, and communicates the list of persons proposed for the issue of the letter of acceptance to studies to the Directorate-General for International Relations and European Affairs (DGRIAE) of the Ministry of Education and Research;
- The list of candidates will be transmitted online to the Ministry of Education and Research, according to the electronic template;
- The list will be accompanied by a scanned copy of the candidate's file in accordance with Article 13;
- The number of the submitted files must be within the maximum number of students who can be enrolled, and in accordance with the regulations in force;
- After collecting and analysing the documents, the Ministry of Education and Research issues the letter of acceptance;
- The Ministry of Education and Research transmits to the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest the letters of acceptance to studies and, where appropriate, to diplomatic missions, both in electronic format and hard-copy;

Doctorate
- The files (scanned copy) are sent to the University POLITEHNICA in Bucharest, to the following e-mail address: [email protected];
- The admission is carried out for the approved domain of doctoral academic studies, in accordance with the legal provisions in effect;
- University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest evaluates the files, in accordance with the legal regulations in force, and communicates the list of persons proposed for the issue of the letter of acceptance to studies to the Directorate-General for International Relations and European Affairs (DGRIAE) of the Ministry of Education and Research;
- The list will be accompanied by a scanned copy of the candidate’s file according to art.16 from the Methodology;
- After collecting and analysing the documents, the Ministry of Education and Research issues the letter of acceptance;
- The Ministry of Education and Research transmits to the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest the letters of acceptance to studies and, where appropriate, to diplomatic missions, both in electronic format and hard-copy;
- Incomplete files will not be processed and are declared rejected. If the documents are resubmitted and are complete, UPB will resume the steps described in the admission process with a view to their processing by Ministry of Education and Research.
- Birth certificate – certified and translated copy;
- Copy of the document confirming the stable residence abroad;
- Copy of the passport;
- Application for the issuance of the letter of acceptance to studies, included in Annex 2, filled in for all rubrics;
- Copy and certified translation of baccalaureate or its equivalent, authenticated by competent authorities of the issuing country;
- Copy and certified translation of bachelor level diploma or its equivalent, authenticated by competent authorities of the issuing country;
- Copy and certified translation of master level diploma or its equivalent, authenticated by competent authorities of the issuing country;
- Grading transcripts/supplements to diploma – copies and certified translations, for the studies done (high school, bachelor and master);
- Certificate of graduation of the preparatory year of Romanian or linguistic competence certificate, as appropriate, according to articles 3 and 4;
- Acceptance from the supervising professor;
- Medical certificate (in a foreign language) certifying that the person in case does not suffer from any contagious diseases or other afflictions incompatible with their future profession. The health certificate must comprise information that show the current health condition of the owner and, possibly, personal antecedents as to chronical diseases and SARS-COV2;
- Declaration regarding processing of personal data for the enrolment process (Annex V);
- Declaration regarding commitment to pay the studies fee (Annex VI).
Documents can be translated into one of the foreign languages: English/French/Romanian.
When coming for enrollment, the candidates will present their study documents at the faculty, in original, along with the necessary translations (if the case).
